2:15 - 3:30
Pickups of children at various schools and arrival of children being bussed in to Grasshoppers. Upon arrival our excellent staff will start their day which includes;
Snack Time – Snacks must be provided for all children – please no peanuts or peanut butter due to some children having severe peanut allergies.
Free Time – As we all know the students have been in school all day, this is the best time to have the children release their built up energy! We have 1000 square feet open floor space, where the kids play games, tag, or do creative activities in the after school room.
3:30 – 4:00 Group A - Martial Arts, Group B - Crafts
4:00 – 4:30 Group B - Martial Arts, Group A - Crafts
Martial Arts Instruction – Our classes are broken into 2 groups, Group A and Group B. This enables us to better teach our students in a smaller number vs. having all the children in one "mega class". During the 30 minute session your child will be trained physically and mentally in the ancient art of Tae Kwon Do. Your child will learn the tenants of Taekwondo (courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and loyalty) as well as valuable bully proofing techniques, including how to assess and react to peer-pressure and self-defence situations. Classes are typically broken down into 10minutes of warm up and physical fitness, followed by 20 minutes of expert instruction.
While one group is doing the Martial Arts instruction, the other group is doing creative time where the build arts and crafts, shape lego creations, and learn to work both as an individual and as a team player.
4:30 – 5:00
Students will have a homework / study time.
We have a fantastic Bilingual staff person that can help your child with homework both in the French or English language.
4:30 - 5:30
Pickup by parents / guardians.
If the child does not have homework we try to go outside and use our spacious yard. Outside we play games, sports, jumping on the trampoline, swing on the swings, or climb on the custom made play-set. If the weather is inclimate we stay inside and play games.
Note - Mondays is physical fitness day where both Group A and B are combined for some cardio vascular and physical fitness as it pertains to TaeKwonDo.
Friday's are fun days and no homework help is offered and we watch a movie and play outside!
