Frequently Asked Questions

 

Can i try a class before signing up?

Absolutely! We welcome you to come in and try a free class of your choice (Pilates, Yoga, or Kickboxing) before deciding to join.  Our instructors will welcome you and make your first class an enjoyable experience giving you a better idea of what program is right for you.

Can i join anytime?

Our sessions are every 8 weeks so that new students can joining without waiting a long period of time, and the students in our current classes work on material that builds on the previous classes.  We encourage our students to pre-register to avoid disappointment as classes can fill up quickly.

 

Do i need any equipment?

The only thing you will need in Pilates or Yoga is a mat.  You can go purchase a good yoga / Pilates mat for approximately $30.  Haven't had the time to get one yet? No problem we have several mats on hand that we can lend you until you get your own.   Pilates and yoga classes are barefoot for traction and comfort during exercises.

What type of Pilates do you teach?

We exclusively teach Stott Pilates.  Stott Pilates is developed by professionals for professionals, It is an anatomically-based approach to the original exercise method. It is a progression in Pilates that incorporates modern exercise science and rehabilitation principles, eliminates contraindicated movements and emphasizes neutral alignment, core stability and peripheral mobility.

What type of Yoga do you teach?

We teach Hatha Yoga.  Traditional hatha yoga is a holistic yogic path, including disciplines, physical postures, purification procedures, poses, breathing, and meditation. The hatha yoga predominantly practiced in the West consists of mostly understood physical exercises. It is also recognized as a stress-reducing practice.
