Typically we try to sign all of our students at the beginning of the school year. However sometimes we do have openings and can accommodate students at any time of the year. Please contact us as we can tell you immediately if we have openings and at what schools.
We currently service 5 HRM schools in Dartmouth. Ecole Bois Joli, Michael Wallace (2:45 and 3:15pm), Ian Forsyth (3:00pm) Admiral Westphal, and we have students bussed in from Shannon Park.
We may be looking to expand our coverage area but have requirements and if your school is not listed above pleaes contact Mr. Power and inform him that you would like to see pickups at your school.
No you can not drop your child off on certain days to just do TaeKwonDo classes. We have an extensive program that is geared to all of our after school students and feel that it is unfair to have students that are not part of the regular program to "drop in" and sometimes do TKD class.
Absolutely! We are recognized by the Provincial and Federal government as a Healthy Living Tax Incentive sport and registered for After School Care for your "tax deductions" We provide income tax receipts to all of our students for all fees received for the previous fiscal year.
(note - we are not a daycare and do not fall under the daycare act by the Dept. of Community Services)
We teach TaeKwonDo 3 days per week, and one day per week is physical fitness. On fridays we have a fun day for the kids as they have worked hard all week and they look forward to "movie day" If a student is interested in attending our great after school program but not interested in taking Martial Arts, please contact us and we can discuss further options.
Unfortunately this year we are not open on snow or professional development days. There are two reasons for this, 1- our membership contains both English and French schools, unfortunately they do not have the same PD or in service days. 2 - Most of our staff members work other jobs and are not available on a moments notice to work a snow day or take the day off for a PD day. PD Days we will sometimes run a daytime program if the need is there. When signing up please inform the staff if you are interested in in service day programs and if the interest is there we can try to run programs.
